Before launching the emergency food distribution in Banshkhali Upazila, Chattogram, ECHO
Bangladesh coordinated with the Upazila administration. Based on guidance from the Upazila
Nirbahi Officer’s Office, it was found that the villages closer to the upazila headquarters had
already received sufficient relief assistance. However, several remote communities in Fuljhuri
Union, located farther from the upazila center, had not yet received adequate humanitarian support.

Based on this assessment, the ECHO Bangladesh team traveled through difficult, muddy roads to
reach Premkhali Village in Fuljhuri Union and conducted a door-to-door distribution of emergency
food packages to 200 flood-affected families. Each food package included rice, lentils, potatoes,
soybean oil, puffed rice and salt.

The distribution was conducted in the presence of the Chairman of Fuljhuri Union, whose support
helped ensure the assistance reached the families most in need.
