Cyclonic Storm Sitrang ravaged Bangladesh on 25 October 2022. Thousands of houses and crops of 6,000 hectares had been damaged in cyclone Sitrang as well thousands of fish enclosures were destroyed. At least 35 people died (media news) in 11 districts across Bangladesh. Need Assessment Working Group (NAWG) stated that 1.5 million people were affected by this in six districts, namely Bhola, Bagerhat, Barguna, Cox’s Bazar, Khulna and Patuakhali. Cyclon shelters provided the needed protection from this calamity but lacked any food. During this situation, ECHO Bangladesh provided emergency food support in Bagerhat and Bhola districts.
